To accelerate the transition to a low-carbon future, our long-time partner Rocky Mountain Power wanted to better connect their customers with the wide range of residential energy efficiency programs they could benefit from.
Evergreen Energy Partners worked shoulder to shoulder with Rocky Mountain Power to make it easier for the utility’s 1 million intermountain west residential customers to understand their energy usage, find information on available incentives and get rebates more quickly.
The utility’s Wattsmart program, which offers how-tos and attractive rebates for energy system upgrades including heating and cooling systems, weatherization incentives and EV charger installations, was making progress. But many customers, including rural and multilingual households, were still in the dark about how Wattsmart could help them with energy efficiency—and all the ways to save on energy bills.
The enhanced Wattsmart Homes program we created together improves community access to energy-efficient products like heat pumps, evaporative coolers, and smart accessories. It also includes an innovative Heat Pump Professional contractor network, a comprehensive efficient-products retailer support team, and outreach to multilingual communities across the service area.

“Rocky Mountain Power is focused on customer experience and we looked nationally for vendors who can innovate with us.”

Wattsmart Homes Program Manager

Our utility consultant services have accelerated Wattsmart Homes’ rebate processing times, a major concern for both tradespeople and community members. Thanks to a state-of-the-art digital payment solution, customers and contractors get their rebates within days of submitting an application for energy-efficient equipment. Community members also now benefit from a new, interactive website with digital content and tools for rural and metropolitan communities alike.
For our partners at Rocky Mountain Power, the contractors handling installation, and the families making improvements, Wattsmart is something to feel good about. It’s one way they’re adopting decarbonization solutions to build a more resilient, cleaner energy grid and a better future for the planet.
